Privacy policy
Last updated: 8 November 2026
This policy explains what information Lampwise: Bible Word Puzzle (“the app”) and the website lampwise.com collect, why, and the choices you have. The app and the website are made by Obscura Vertex Pte. Ltd., a company registered in Singapore (“we”, “us”).
The short version
- You don't need an account to play. The app never asks for your name, email or phone number.
- If you join the launch list on lampwise.com, we keep your email address only to tell you when Lampwise launches, then delete the list. We never share or sell it.
- Your game progress, coins and settings are stored on your own device. We don't receive them.
- The app shows ads through AppLovin. To show and measure ads, AppLovin and its partners use information about your device, such as its advertising ID. You can limit this (see Your choices).
- Purchases are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see your card details.
- The app doesn't use analytics or crash-reporting services today. If we add any, we'll update this policy first. The website counts visits without cookies (see This website).
Information stored on your device
The app saves your progress (levels and stories finished, coins, hints, bonus words, your daily verses and album pages) and your settings (such as sound and vibration) in a file on your device. This file stays on your device: we don't collect it, and it isn't sent to us. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
Advertising
The app is free, and ads help pay for it. Ads appear between some levels, and when you choose to watch a short video for a free hint. No ad ever interrupts a puzzle on its own. They are served by AppLovin MAX, a service of AppLovin Corporation, and by the advertising networks AppLovin works with.
To choose which ads to show, count views and taps, limit how often you see the same ad and prevent fraud, these companies may collect:
- your device's advertising ID (the Google Advertising ID on Android, or Apple's IDFA on iPhone if you allow tracking);
- information about your device and the app, such as the device model, operating system, language, screen size, mobile carrier and app version;
- your IP address and the approximate location that can be worked out from it (country or city, not your precise location);
- which ads you saw and whether you tapped or finished them.
Where the law requires it, for example in the European Union and the United Kingdom, the app asks for your consent before ads are personalised. On iPhone, the app asks your permission before using the IDFA for tracking; if you say no, it isn't used. Ads you see without personalisation are still ads, but they're based on the app and general context rather than on your interests.
These companies handle this information under their own privacy policies. You can read AppLovin's at applovin.com/privacy.
If you buy Remove Ads, the app stops showing ads between levels.
Purchases
In-app purchases, such as Remove Ads, are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store, under their terms and privacy policies. We never see or store your payment details. The store tells the app what you bought (a purchase confirmation) so it can unlock it and restore it if you reinstall.
Analytics and crash reports
The app doesn't currently use any analytics or crash-reporting service. If we add one to understand how the game is played or to fix crashes, we'll describe it here and update the date above before it reaches your device.
The launch list
If you enter your email address on lampwise.com, we store:
- your email address and the date you signed up;
- which signup box you used, and whether you tried the little puzzle on the page first;
- if you arrived from an ad or a shared link, the campaign name in that link (for example “utm_source=facebook”) and the name of the website that sent you. We don't store your IP address.
We use this only to email you when Lampwise is ready to download, and to learn which of our announcements reach people. We send that email ourselves or through an email delivery service acting for us. We never share, rent or sell the list, and we don't use it for advertising.
The list is kept in a private, access-controlled store at Vercel in the United States. We delete it within 3 months after the launch email goes out. To be removed sooner, email privacy@lampwise.com from that address, or reply to our email, and we'll delete your entry.
This website
lampwise.com is hosted by Vercel. Cloudflare provides its domain name service and forwards email sent to our addresses. Both process visitors' IP addresses and basic request information to deliver the site, protect it from attacks and route mail.
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and launch-list signups. It works without cookies and doesn't identify you or follow you to other websites. We don't use advertising trackers on the website.
Your browser remembers, on your own device, whether you've already joined the launch list, so we don't ask again. This isn't sent to us, and clearing your browser's site data removes it.
When you email us
If you write to us, we use your email address and what you send us only to reply and help you. We keep this correspondence for as long as we need it to deal with your message, and delete it when we no longer do.
Children
Lampwise is made for a general audience, mostly adults. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
Your choices
- Limit personalised ads on Android: open Settings → Google → All services → Ads, where you can reset or delete your advertising ID. (The exact menu names vary by phone.)
- Limit tracking on iPhone: answer “Ask App Not to Track” when the app asks, or go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking at any time.
- Change your ad consent: where the app asked for your consent, you can change your choice from the app's settings.
- Delete your game data: uninstall the app, or clear its data in your phone's settings.
- Remove Ads: stops ads between levels. Videos for free hints stay optional.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, data protection laws such as Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, and US state laws including California's may give you the right to ask what personal information is held about you, to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict how it's used, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of the sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. We don't sell personal information for money.
Because the app doesn't send us your game data, the only personal information we usually hold about you is your launch-list entry, if you joined, and any emails you've sent us. For information collected for advertising, we'll help you reach the right company, and you can also contact AppLovin directly through its privacy policy. To make a request, email privacy@lampwise.com; we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Where information is processed
Our service providers, including AppLovin, its advertising partners, Google, Apple, Vercel and Cloudflare, may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. They are responsible for protecting it under their own policies and the safeguards the law requires.
Changes to this policy
When the app or our services change, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
